Universal Balloon Medical (UBM) builds automated production and AI inspection equipment for interventional and structural-heart medical devices — balloon catheters, stents and guidewires. Manufacturers can buy individual machines or an integrated, traceable turnkey line that covers the complete balloon-catheter process, from tubing pre-stretching through to final inspection.
From forming to inspection
UBM’s line spans balloon forming (blow molding) of compliant and non-compliant balloons from Ø0.5 to 50 mm, laser welding, ultrasonic drug coating for drug-coated balloons, folding and crimping to a low delivery profile, marker-ring swaging, and UV laser marking for device traceability.
Its AI machine-vision systems inspect balloons, stents and tapered guidewires, using deep-learning models to flag cosmetic and dimensional defects — enabling 100% automated inspection in place of manual microscope checks.
Turnkey, automated and traceable
Customers building or scaling balloon catheter production can source the whole line from a single vendor, with autonomous mobile robots handling cleanroom material transfer between stations. Every machine is MES-ready with SQL-based process traceability to support IQ / OQ / PQ validation for ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated production.
